In June of 2018, what started as a small floral business quickly became so much more than arranging flowers. Every bouquet, wedding, and special event became an opportunity to celebrate life's biggest moments—weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and the countless occasions that deserve to be remembered.
Over the years, Sweet Pea has had the privilege of designing flowers for weddings and events across Alabama. As the business continued to grow, so did the vision. We began dreaming about what a flower shop would look like. We imagined a place where someone could stop in for a beautiful bouquet, find the perfect gift, discover a new favorite tea, pick up local honey, browse seasonal items, or simply leave feeling inspired.
That dream became Sweet Pea Floral & Tea.
Today, flowers remain at the heart of everything we do—they always will. They are where our story began and will forever be one of our greatest passions. But we've thoughtfully expanded our collection to include products that reflect the same care, beauty, and intention we've always put into our floral designs.

Sweet Pea Floral & Tea is built on a shared passion for beautiful design, meaningful experiences, and serving the North Alabama community. While Katherine leads the creative vision and floral design, Emily brings her love for tea, entrepreneurial leadership and business expertise. Together, they are committed to creating a destination where flowers, gifts, and everyday moments come together.

Katherine Robertson founded Sweet Pea Floral in 2018 with a passion for creating floral designs that celebrate life's most meaningful moments. What began as a floral design studio has grown into Sweet Pea Floral & Tea—a boutique built around beautiful flowers, and thoughtfully curated gifts.
Over the years, Katherine has designed florals for weddings, celebrations, and special events throughout Alabama, earning a reputation for timeless designs, personalized service, and exceptional attention to detail. Her work has been featured in Alabama Weddings Magazine and other regional publications.
As the creative force behind Sweet Pea Floral & Tea, Katherine leads the floral design, product selection, and overall vision of the brand. Every bouquet, collection, and seasonal display is thoughtfully created with the belief that beauty should feel personal and every detail should have meaning.
Katherine's passion for entrepreneurship and serving the community has also been recognized beyond the floral industry. In 2024, she was honored as Young Professional of the Year by the Madison City Chamber of Commerce, recognizing her leadership, business excellence, and commitment to making a positive impact throughout North Alabama.
Outside of the shop, Katherine's greatest joy is her family. She and her husband, Gary, are raising their two children, Ella and Brody, who inspire much of the heart behind Sweet Pea.

Emily Santiago joined Sweet Pea Floral & Tea as a partner in 2025, bringing her entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, and love for serving the community.
As the owner of Blue Ink Closing & Title and Santiago Law Firm, Emily has built a reputation for professionalism, leadership, and creating exceptional client experiences. Her passion for supporting local businesses and helping people through life's important milestones made Sweet
Pea a natural fit.
Emily shares Katherine's vision of creating a welcoming place where beautiful flowers, thoughtful gifts, and meaningful moments come
together. Emily is also the heart behind the tea selections. With a passion for beautifully curated teas, emily has spent countless hours making sure to bring the best products to our clients.
